Q：Why do you name your studio “R&B”?
We named the studio after my children’s names. "R" is from my daughter’s name, and "B" is from my son’s name. We named it by this way because of love, and it show my love in different way. By this way, I deliver happiness.
Q：When we search the information about R&B studio, we found the data is mainly related to computer information. What is the relationship between your studio and computer information?
EMy husband is an information engineer. He works in IT department of a shopping mall. In Kinmen, we also found there are fewer people engage in web design. Most of Kinmen’s websites are designed from Taiwanese information engineers. Therefore, we also take outsourcing cases. The official name of R&B studio is "Ruei Bo Information and Creative Studio". The reason that we added the word "creative" was meaningful—we hope there will be more opportunities for diversified development in the future.
Q：What motivate you to design these products and decide to stay in Kinmen?
I believe that "learning from zero to one" is one of the most important education for my children. I would like to encourage them to join the hand-make and set up a stall, to let them have diverse growth experience.
Fortunately, at the beginning of this year, I saw the poster about Kinmen’s art and craft market which was posted in the kindergarten where my daughter is studying. Truly, it inspired me. Moreover, the experience of studying in the major related to Art and Design makes me full of confidence. But the most important element is supporting from my husband! Because my kids got birth, I rarely have the free time to do what I want. After my husband's encouragement, I learned the skill of making cement molds from my friends. Then we sold those products in the art and craft market.
Q：Will you plan to own a storefront in the future?
Even the job opportunities here are less than Taiwan, however, this is the place where we have studied and lived for four years. We have built up a close relationship with this island. That's why we choose to start up in Kinmen. We won't rule out the possibility of expanding the market in Taiwan, but we hope as soon as people talk about Rosengarten, they also remember where we came from. We believe the more that there are lots of possibility of opportunities, if our products are distinguished enough.
Q：It seems that there are few stores to have the same type of activities such as "mini brick DIY", which is stacking the small potted plants, or making the pen holders and so on, these are your studio’s features. How did you get this idea?
I tell stories in kindergarten and I also enjoy playing with children. What else products can I do except making the concrete pots? I want to make some creative products or activities that can interact with children. Finally, I decide to focus on DIY. Those crafts of mosaics and mini cooktops are very pretty and cute. However, there are few creations about that in Kinmen, soI added “mini brick DIY” and “marble tesserae” in my studio.
