Q:There are more resources and employment opportunity in Taiwan. Why do you and your companions persist in staying in Kinmen?
Even the job opportunities here are less than Taiwan, however, this is the place where we have studied and lived for four years. We have built up a close relationship with this island. That's why we choose to start up in Kinmen. We won't rule out the possibility of expanding the market in Taiwan, but we hope as soon as people talk about Rosengarten, they also remember where we came from. We believe the more that there are lots of possibility of opportunities, if our products are distinguished enough.
Q:We like the motto written on your website very much: "The most difficult process is from zero to one." When did you start your business? What was your obstacle in the initial phase? How did you overcome it?
When we were in the same laboratory during the last year of the college, we found out the resistance starch could extract from sorghum! Whereas, we also found out that the resistance starch were not suitable for lots of products. Until we discovered that when it become the main ingredient of the bread, it could let the bread have special flavor.
In the beginning, we never think of opening a bakery. However, everything is destiny. When the fate comes to us, we achieve our dream together.
When it comes to the ordeals, we originally do not know how to bake and we merely understand what food science is. Director Lee used to say, "Your products are extremely monotonous and unsightly!" Thus, she introduces the consultant to us who enhances the quality of the products.
Q:What's the most significant thing during baking?
The first-rate ingredients. While baking, we must use the first-rate ingredients.
Due to this reason, we especially employ a consultant to offer the suggestions about baking and we expect our products could meet their requirements.
Moreover, we possibly let the natural ingredients presented to our customers. Thus, we collaborate with the local small-holder farmers like we buy the local honey, taros, sweet potatoes and black garlic. ( The sweet potato bun and the black garlic bun have already hit the store shelves.) Not only do we operate a bakery; we also want to attain the result of industry cooperation.
Q:What is your plan in the future?
First of all, we want to add new equipment in our bakery, as well as catering service. We also want to create some new products, such as souvenir even combine with other business from Taiwan and China when we're in the stable condition.
Q:Why did you choose to set up your bakery in 16 Art and Culture Zone?
This zone was organized and reconsturcted by Jincheng Township Office which planned to build up 16 Art and Culture Zone. We wrote copy to apply for the bakery and we made it! Now, our bakery is located in the center of Jincheng Township. We hope that it could attract more tourists and make the local night life impressive.
Q:Please make some suggestions for the juniors who intend to start-up.
In the beginning, it's quite exhausting because of the variety of business. You must ask yourself, "Can I bite the bullet?" For instance, you may have to do the copywriting, design the products or sell the products etc. Besides, you shouldn't just care about the proceeds, you should be enthusiastic about your career. While there is enthusiasm, there is harvest.
